Meals on Wheels of Solano County (MOWSC) seeks a bright and highly motivated individual to help support our fundraising operations.
This part-time Development Assistant, under the direction of the Development Manager, will be responsible for development administration, assisting in prospect research, and support of solicitation and stewardship cycles.
Our office is fast-paced, and our hardworking staff is passionate about MOWSC's mission.
This position may require occasional evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities:
? Input donor information and monetary and in-kind donations into the donor database ? Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry and ongoing clean-up efforts ? Record and track in-kind donations, donation drives, and third-party fundraisers and events ensuring all necessary paperwork and information is organized and on file ? Manage the timely acknowledgment of gifts and ensure that all types of donations (cash, pledges, matching gifts, and planned gifts) are properly documented ? Conduct donor research and donor gift/giving analysis ? Prepare accurate research on prospects and assemble materials for cultivation and solicitation visits ? Provide support for fundraising activities and special events ? Collaborate with various departments to plan special events ? Support the production and distribution of recurring appeals and stewardship materials ? Assist with the writing and editing of appeals, acknowledgments, donor news, reports, and proposals ? Proof text for public communications including but not limited to social media posts, e-newsletters, letters, and mailers ? Communicate with donors in person, on the phone, and by email ? Process incoming and outgoing mail ? Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree (preferred) ? At least two years of experience in an office environment ? Excellent communication skills and judgment with the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality ? Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; experience with donor databases, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), and design/marketing software (Canva, MailChimp) a plus ? Strong customer service ethic Preferred:
? Familiarity with non-profits, research methods, data standards, and CRM databases ? Interest in fundraising, marketing, social media ? Understanding of MOWSC's mission Job Type:
